Potato corner 1st time

Today went to the mall and Daiso with my roomie Suevia. Bought some Daiso items and will blog those tomorrow as right now is late and tomorrow is first day of school for me. Well at the mall we stopped for some potato corner fries. I've got to say I'm impressed. Many style and flavors. My favorite is the chili bbq , even though this is my first lol. Also I'm a huge fan of fries so this was just the right place. Ya I'm late on tasting their potatoes but now I have and I've enjoyed  it a lot. More next time I go there again. XD

Late night Practice Sketch Whip

So just today I bought the Intuos Wacom Tablet. I tested it and it doesn't seem so bad. The only bad thing is I'm still new to digital art, and still learning. So today I tested the tablet and so far I like it. :D Though I'll say I need more practice and more learning to do, and i mean alot :3 hehe. Well, done for the night and more another time. Also probably will make a review of the tablet soon. Debating on it though. eeek~! alrighty, off I go, and here unfinished practice whip.
And yep, that is the face of Kakey. Lol xD hahaha~ more improvement needed -.-;;
Also I took a lot of inspiration for this practice of digital painting from others. Just for the learning process, though I quite like it, and would like to thank them.

Late Night sketch&draw

Before I head off to bed, I just finished sketching a character. After, I decided to outline it in photoshop as I haven't done that for a while. Obviously, without a tablet, and being the amateur artist I am, with my mouse and I, it took hours plus doing it, yet , in honesty, wasn't as good as the sloppy sketch version IMO. Anyways, here it is. I'm left with panda eyes now. The next one shall be a panda -.-. hehe
(Left: Done with pen tool in PS (with alterations), Right: hand drawn/sketched out)

For now, I'll probably stick with the tradition drawing until I invest in a tablet. xD I'm quite not satisfy with how the one on the left came out with the use of pen tool. >_< She looks so evil...
Character Alias:
Name: Kakey (pronounced cake-ee)
Personality: sweet, optimistic, timid, energetic, lovely, friendly
Hobbies: shopping, reading, listen to music, exercise, outing
Obsessions: animals: cats, fashion, frillyness of things :D
Update more in the near future. off to bed la~

Poke a Dot Me

Did an afternoon photoshoot with my roomate Suevia. (visit her page for tons of beautiful styling). Thank you so much for being a great photographer as usual :D Much appreciation go to you. Also the shoot was fun and yet another good experience. I felt like I haven't done this for a while. Though I did only one photoshoot during winter break. Will share those when my little sister send them to me. Anywho off to the shots...Enjoy la~

Just a simple put together outfit and since it wasn't cold, I didn't bother to wear any tights even though we are still in this so call cold weather season. Though it seems the season for this year or even passed years seems to be off track a bit...sigh..
Outfit: Gray with white polka dot/inner lace collar piece/rings(rings from lovely friend Emil): F21, lace up oxford: Ross.
(all my stuff are bargains ^-^)

Thanks again to my awesome roommate for taking the photos!! Visit her page for awesome styling!! :)

Cute DIY Pin Cushion Jar

Need a great gift idea? Or a project to do? DIY Pin Cushion Jar, which i found it on MakeitLoveit, is a great gift for anyone who loves to sew or anyone in general.  A gift made with warm loving thoughts. Again, its not the price of a gift that matters, its the thought put into the gift that matters.

Here my little sister and I did during the winter break together as a preparation gift to our friends. She made some for her friend, while i made some for mine. :)
(The project/DIY requires no sewing :3)

Materials used (Below, exclude the needles and threads ):
-Jars (center of lid and rims comes apart) (bought from Walmart which comes in a pack of 12)
- a pair of sissor
-felt fabric
-fabric of any prints (bought my fabric from Walmart)
-glue gun
-trimmings/other deco materials
- Polyfill Fibers (used for stuffing)

Jars (there are different sizes, designs, etc..)

Didn't take a lot of photos during the making of it, since it was late during the time i made these. So I'm not really making it into a tut rather just sharing the project and pics. Check out the site I got it from earlier in the post.
So for the pin cushion fabric piece, we used a cd tube case to trade for a nice circle. Circle piece should be big enough for later when stuffing and gluing.(traced on wrong side of the fabric)
Then we just cut out the circles we traced out.
Now preparation for gluing next. Though we seem to forgot to put our polyfill fiber inbetween the inner lid .hehe. Again make sure circle piece of fabric is big enough so you can stuff and glue it .
Glue one side at a time and you get this. :)

After done, you get these cute little pin cushion. Now time to decorate them with trimmings :D

Tada!~ after some little trimmings you get these more adorable pin cushion.
All of the ones i made for me and my Designer friends!! I'm in love with it :)
Lastly, you can put anything inside the jars, from candies to accessories to anything!!! make it fun and enjoyable!! For mine, I just put in some candies so that after them sweets, my friends and I can use it as a pin storage and place our pins there. It's quite helpful in organization too :D sweet~

Recycle Card

Recently back from winter break, and finally back to updating my blog :3 Anyways just yesterday or so, I found some old unused cards which I thought of trying to recreate them into a much more creative, different looking card. Though I'm not sure about the creative part, but the appearance definitely looked different. Well then, here goes how i did it, something simple easy and fun (i'd say).
 Materials:
-Old magazines (something that has colors, even colored instruction papers will do)
-a pair of sissors
-glue stick (or of any kind)
-markers/fineliners
-stickers of some kind

1.
Tear out a piece of magazine page and tear it into small shreds of papers. I didn't cut the magazine because i wanted that rough uneven edge.
2.
Prep your card and teared up prints for gluing next.
3-5.
Start pasting your teared up magazine pieces onto the card. I tried to make sure it wasn't all just one colored or print, so i placed each teared up piece in a way they were not blended. Also overlapping them gives a nice texture-like appearance. (Another way to say is, I'm pretty much making a collage). Don't worry about having any of the pieces sticking out over the edge (As seen in #6). That is where the scissors come into play.
 7-8.
As seen in the picture, after pasting the pieces, turn to the back and snip off the pieces that are sticking out to straight edges of the card.
9-10.
On back of the front of the card, I ripped out a full text page from the magazine and teared it up. Repeating what i did to the front of the card. After just past it down overlapping one another.
 11.
Trimmed off the pieces that stick out to clean straight edges (back to card edge).
12-14.
Lastly, I just stuck a "thank you" sticker onto the front and drew on the inside of the card with colored fine-liners.

And VOILA! its done! :)

All photos taken with my iPod, therefore, they were all bad quality photos. Still came out not bad :)

1st Flight Experience & Halloween Update

Well, Its been forever since I've updated my blog. Lately, I've been stressed with my class projects and feeling like I just need myself some good lazy rest. Yep. These are late, but still something to share. :D Last week Saturday, I flew on an airplane for the first time. I am so grateful for this experience and now, I love flying. No lies, If anything, I'd love to fly again and again and again! All this happened, thanks to Dave and the girls I met at ISI, Elizabeth, Kathy, Samantha, and especially my sweet lovely friend Ann! Love her! awesome enthusiastic girl, with so much love and sweetness! hehe. Well the plane I flew on was handmade all built by Dave. It is called the Very Easy plane. Dave said that its called "Very Easy" because during the time he built the plane, it was easy. haha xD I thought it was a bit humorous, though I got to say it was the best flight I've ever had in my entire life. Never flew on a commercial airplane before so I'm not sure about that experience, but this one was an awesome one. The only down side was the loud engine noise, though, that won't stop me from flying. :D Well, we flew over the side of Burbank to Downtown, Los Angeles. Through that passage we flew over the Rose Bowl and Dodgers stadium. Great, Fun, Wonderful, awesome experience and I hope to fly again soon or whenever in the future!!! THANKs to all the people who made it possible for me to fly, and thanks Dave! Also Thank God for allowing me to meet such wonderful people and allowing me to have a safe flight experience and back! ahhh!!! Lets fly away to the pictures!!!!
Pictures of the day:
